Dust, dust and dust. Whether you are out for shopping, going to work or school, it’s hard to miss out on the dust of this city. Olds, youths and children all are being affected by this merciless dust of the valley. Before Kathmandu city was known as the city of the temples. But now all the temples are demolished by earthquake and only dust prevails. So the city is turned into a vessel of dust.
The Capital city has been blanketed by the cloud of smoke and dust for a long time owing to various activities such as road expansion, pipe laying and wanton operation of industries in the vicinity of human settlements among others.
The newly elected mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya has reaffirmed his commitment to rid Kathmandu district of dust and smoke at the earliest.
Likewise, KMC Deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi pledged to introduce youth empowerment programs besides prioritizing the eco-friendly plans and programs to transform the city into a green and clean one.
We have heard these kinds of promises before as well but let’s talk less and work more. We hope to see some actual action from our new mayor and deputy mayor.
Hoping to see dust free, clean and green Kathmandu valley in near future
